
Qualifications for Membership
- You must be a Confirmed Catholic age 18 and older
- You must be a practicing Catholic following all teachings of the Church
- You cannot belong to another Order
- You must be open to make a lifelong commitment to live the Franciscan Rule

Obligations of Membership
- Attend Mass on all Holy Days of Obligation and Daily Mass as often as possible
- Pray an appropriate form of liturgical prayer daily
- Attend Monthly Fraternity Meetings
- Contribute, as able, to the common fund
- Perform our Fraternity’s apostolate
- Live the OFS Rule

Steps to Membership
Becoming a Secular Franciscan is a journey of three stages.
- Stage One: Orientation
Dialogue and developing relationships. Explore general information about the Order, St. Francis and St. Clare, and share in Franciscan prayer life. - Stage Two: Inquiry
Study. You will learn the histories of the Franciscan Orders and more about Sts. Francis and Clare. - Stage Three: Candidacy
You will learn the Rule of the Order and its Constitution & Statutes, while continuing to learn more about Sts. Francis and Clare in preparation for life long profession.
Current norm for preparation is 36 months or less by exception.
